Ingredients

Main:

  • banana - 4 pieces
  • milk - 800 ml

Instructions

1

Chill and set up

Pour the milk (800 ml) into a pitcher and keep it cold while you set up the blender; cold milk helps the banana (4 pieces) blend into a thicker, creamier texture.

1 minute
Tip: For a more classic fountain-style thickness, refrigerate the serving glasses for 5 minutes if time allows.
2

Prepare the bananas

Peel the bananas (4 pieces) and break each one into 3 to 4 chunks directly into the blender jar; smaller pieces help the banana purée quickly and evenly with the milk (800 ml).

1 minute
Tip: Use ripe bananas with plenty of brown speckles for the best natural sweetness and aroma.
3

Add milk and begin blending

Add the cold milk (800 ml) to the blender over the banana pieces (4 pieces). Start blending on low speed for 10 to 15 seconds to combine, then increase to high speed for 30 to 45 seconds until completely smooth.

2 minutes
Tip: If the mixture climbs the sides of the jar, stop and scrape down, then blend again to eliminate any banana flecks.
4

Adjust texture and serve

Blend for an additional 10 to 20 seconds to aerate slightly for a lighter mouthfeel, then immediately divide the milkshake evenly into 4 glasses (about 200 ml each). Serve at once for the freshest flavor and best texture.

1 minute
Tip: For a thinner shake, briefly blend in a splash of additional milk from the measured 800 ml before pouring; for a thicker shake, blend a few seconds longer.

When to Eat

Best served immediately as a quick breakfast, snack, or light dessert.

Health Benefits

Provides potassium and fiber from banana and protein and calcium from milk; naturally sweet without added sugar.

Warnings

Contains milk (dairy).

Serve With

Serve with buttered toast, plain biscuits, or fresh fruit.
